Lying Tricep Extension
Your triceps are made up of three muscles connected at the back of the arm between your shoulder and elbow. The longest muscle connects your shoulder to your elbow. You cannot really isolate any one of the three muscles. However, lying triceps extensions focus on that longest muscle.
This exercise is easily performed using a dumbbell:
- Lay on your back with a dumbbell in your hand.
- Point your elbow at the ceiling, with your elbow bent to 90 degrees.
- Slowly straighten your elbow, lifting the weight upward.
- Slowly lower the weight back to your starting position.
- If it is difficult to hold your arm still, you can use your opposite hand to stabilize it.
